Business Development Growth Lead
🌱 About us

Treet is a Series A, venture-backed startup, helping e-commerce brands grow responsibly through resale. The apparel resale market is projected to grow at 3x the rate of retail in the next 3 years, reaching $367B worldwide by 2029; brands are leaving billions of revenue on the table and missing out on a powerful way to engage with their customers. With Treet, brands can launch their own resale experience in a matter of days, unlocking a new revenue stream, increasing customer loyalty, and reducing their carbon footprint.

Treet powers the majority of branded resale experiences worldwide, 200+ and counting, including programs for brands like Portland Leather Goods, Christy Dawn, Clare V., Melin, DÔEN, and Howler Brothers. Check out our site (www.treet.co) for more info on Treet and the company we're building.

♻️ Our mission

The fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters worldwide. Our mission is to ensure every item produced lives its longest life possible.

🔭 About the role

We're looking for a Business Development Growth Lead — a player-coach who will both personally drive meaningful new pipeline and level up how our entire outbound engine runs. This is a rare blend of individual contribution, people leadership, and process innovation, and it's one of the highest-leverage roles on our go-to-market team.

You'll carry a personal pipeline target and begin by managing one direct report (a BDR). Together, the two of you will own our top-of-funnel strategy and goals. Just as importantly, you'll be the person who reinvents how we prospect — bringing an AI-first mindset to sourcing, research, messaging, and workflow so that our small team punches well above its weight.

This role reports directly to the VP of Sales and works from our SF office three days a week.

💻 What you'll do
  • Carry a number. Personally identify, prospect, and open opportunities with world-class e-commerce brands, contributing directly to the team's net new opened-pipeline target.
  • Coach and develop. Manage one BDR through call reviews, shadowing, messaging refinement, and structured weekly 1:1s — raising their performance and helping them grow fast. Potential to build a larger team as the company grows.
  • Own the pipeline number. Be jointly accountable with your rep for the net new opened-pipeline target, running forecasting for pipeline creation and keeping the team on pace.
  • Rethink the entire outreach landscape with AI. This is the defining part of the role. You'll reimagine our outbound motion from the ground up — using AI and LLMs to redesign how we source, research, prioritize, personalize, and sequence outreach end to end. We want someone with a deep, hands-on understanding of where AI can replace or augment manual work at every stage of the funnel.
  • Build an AI-powered team that outputs like 3+ BDRs. The goal isn't just efficiency — it's leverage. You'll architect AI-driven workflows so that you and one entry-level BDR can mimic the quality and volume of a 3+ person BDR team, without sacrificing the personalization and craft that make outreach convert.
  • Own the tooling and data. Maintain CRM hygiene, track KPIs, and get the most out of our sales stack (HubSpot, Apollo, and the AI tools you'll help us adopt).
  • Partner cross-functionally. Work closely with the VP of Sales, Account Executives, Marketing Org, Operations, and C-Suite to refine the end-to-end sales process and share what's working across the team.
  • Partner with Operations on data, scoring, and data hygiene. Work hand-in-hand with our Head of Operations to build and refine the account scoring model, lead enrichment workflows, and data pipelines that feed prospecting ensuring the AI-driven outreach engine is targeting the right brands with the right signals and setting up ways to ensure our data is clean and accurate.
  • Build the culture. Play a key role in shaping our sales culture and team norms as the company grows — and take on (or invent) special projects to help Treet grow.
🎯 About you

You'd be our dream candidate if…

  • You have 4+ years of sales development / outbound experience, including some experience coaching, mentoring, or leading other reps (formal management experience is a plus, not a requirement).
  • You've personally been a top-performing BDR/SDR and still love the craft of opening opportunities — you lead from the front.
  • You're deeply AI-native. You don't just use ChatGPT to draft emails — you think in systems, and you have a strong point of view on how AI can be woven through the entire outreach landscape to make a tiny team output like a much larger one. You're excited to prove that two people plus the right AI stack can match the quality and volume of three BDRs.
  • You're proficient with sales and automation tools like HubSpot and Apollo, and you believe in continuous process improvement.
  • You have strong writing skills and can generate compelling, high-converting sales emails — and teach others to do the same.
  • You have a competitive nature and a growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities for development (for yourself and your report).
  • You're organized and data-driven, comfortable owning a number and forecasting pipeline creation.
  • You care about sustainability and believe in the power of secondhand shopping to transform the industry.
  • You can work from our SF office three days a week.
🤲 Here's what's in it for you
  • Work with the fastest-growing player in branded resale, powering the majority of branded resale shops worldwide (250 and counting)
  • A high-ownership, high-visibility role where you shape both a number and a process from the ground up
  • Our culture prioritizes you as a person first, employee second
  • You'll get support from world-class investors, including First Round Capital, Bling Capital, Matchstick, BAM Ventures, BBG Ventures, V1.VC, Techstars, Interlace Ventures, Alante Capital, Michael Broukhim (Co-Founder of FabFitFun), and Casey Armstrong (CMO of ShipBob)
  • You'll get to work with an incredible team with alums from Faire, Airbnb, AfterPay, ShipBob, Indiegogo, Yelp, and more
  • Tons of great perks, like office lunches, annual reTreets (Tahoe in '21, San Luis Obispo in '22, Denver in '23,Yosemite in '24, Sonoma in ‘25), health insurance (+ dental and vision), commuter benefits, new MacBook, monthly Lunch n' Learns and Happy Hours, $50 in Treetbucks each month, monthly wellness stipend, and 50% of WFH setup paid for
💵 Compensation

Based on San Francisco market benchmarks for a player-coach sales development leader, a typical range is $75K–$95K base / ~$125K–$145K OTE (uncapped), plus meaningful early-stage equity.
