RadSwan is the conscious beauty and lifestyle brand built with and for the Global African Diaspora. The brand was initially launched in March 2017 as Big Hair No Care by Cosmopolitan’s 2018 Influencer of the Year, Freddie Harrel. Now rebranded as RadSwan, the company is set to launch this September having raised over $2m in seed funding from an all-female group of investors including BBG Ventures, Female Founders fund, and Pritzker.
RadSwan is set to disrupt the black beauty market and is one of the very few black woman-owned brands to ever raise over $1m.
Starting with hair and expanding into other adjacent beauty and lifestyle categories, RadSwan will be the first beauty brand that centers innovation, sustainability and co-creation serving the global African Diaspora
The Role:
You will come into the fold as, among other things, be the glue for the organization, ensuring all trains run on time, being accountable for the key company-wide KPI’s and the output of the entire team. You will translate the company vision into an exciting action plan and manage its execution, supported by the wider team.
As VP of Business Operations and Strategy, reporting into the CEO, you will balance creative problem-solving, processes implementation, and internal business operations management (finance, strategy, recruitment, ecommerce, product,..).
This role is about laying the groundwork and creating sets of systems, workflow, and culture that enable the company to scale infinitely.
Responsibilities:
-Project management and operations: Building SOPs should be like second nature to you, you will be using and facilitating everyone in the team to use project management systems like Asana. You will be responsible for creating dashboards and instrumenting the business around key numbers
-Owning performance and results. That means helping the organization to turn creativity into OKRs and KPIs for different functions and workstreams, and unify the team through excellent communication and streamlined objectives
-Team expansion and management: Recruiting, onboarding, training, nurturing team members, leading by example and inspiration, to achieve the right mix of productivity and happiness in the company.
-Integrate cross department ownership: Own and manage various parts of the organization including strategy, operations, finance, accounting, marketing, and talent, ensuring different shared functions maximize the efficiency of other departments of the company
-Internal strategy planning: Support the leadership team in strategic planning, organizational planning, and business rhythm processes, aligning with other functions to develop budgets, financials, objectives and key results (OKRs) and resource allocation
-Oversee supply chain and CS: Support our Director of Supply Chain and Logistics to perfect supply chain operations with our third-party Logistics (3PL) and manufacturers. Manage the supply chain team to achieve the optimal rhythm for procurement and inventory management, lay the groundworks for customer service function
-Foster a happy, remote working team culture: Facilitate team members to organically integrate under a remote work environment, conduct regular check-ins with members of the team
Your experience and key traits:
-You have the ability to integrate all three major functions of the business – Sales and Marketing, Operations, and Finance – into one harmonious group that performs optimally.
-You are able to demonstrate clear examples of operational excellence. Building systems that maximize output, managing teams to produce incredible results, hiring rockstar-a-players, successfully executing a big vision.

-You are a self-starting, multitasking, highly organized, detail-oriented and reliable individual who loves to innovate, strategize and think outside of the box
-You have experience in an early-stage direct-to-consumer and digitally-native startup
-You have experience being a management consultant for more than 4+ years or you have experience working directly in operations at an early stage company
-You have a demonstrated results-orientation, with strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize multiple objectives while being able to still chat and spend time with team members
-You are completely fluent in digital tools like Asana, Gsuite, Notion, google calendar and other workflow tools
