Job Overview:
We are looking forward to continued growth in 2025 and need Software Engineers to help form candidate journey experience team for creating and delivering a new addition to our product suite. As a Software Engineer, you'll be an integral part of a focused team of 3-5 software engineers together with QA, Devops and UX specialists. Software teams at Harver independently own domain services within our product-suite and are responsible for their development, maintenance, releases and integration."
In this role you get to:
- Deliver software aligned with the technical architecture and product roadmap, as part of a team.
- Contribute to evolving the software architecture for your area of the platform.
- Work to weekly and daily schedules, in collaboration with your team.
- Share knowledge and areas of expertise with fellow team members and throughout the technology organization.
- Maintain awareness of how your area of the platform operates in production.
- Raise awareness of potential concerns and take the initiative to lead improvements.
You'll work with our engineering principles:
- Simple Design. Build up system complexity through frequent simple steps. Simplicity before generality.
- Behavior Driven Development. The process of developing software collaboratively driven by specification.
- Continuous Delivery. Creating a momentum of delivery through incremental feedback cycles and updates.
- Non-solo programming. Working collaboratively and as a true team.
- Understanding Production. Understanding how your software works in the real-world in terms of both technical operation and user experience.
These five principles are derived from Extreme Programming; we also eschew Scrum in favor of more Kanban and Lean styles of working. These are all concepts should you have some experience of but also desire a deeper understanding.
We’re looking for people who have:
- 5+ years of work experience as a software developer
- Familiarity with our technical stack. You should consider yourself a "full stack" engineer, but bias toward frontend or backend is ok.
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
- Experience within software development (BDD & TDD, CI/CD, pair programming), preferably in a SaaS environment
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- While familiarity with our core technology stack (NodeJS, React, Typescript, Postgres, Mongo, RabbitMQ, AWS) is a bonus, we’re looking for not just great coders, but great software engineers who are focused on delivering great products and inspiring those around them to do so too.
- The points in this post about responsibilities, engineering practices and culture should resonate with you and excite you.
- The desire to work in a collaborative and productive environment, are a continual learner and stay up to date with technology
- Been disillusioned by sprints and story points and are seeking liberation; another way!
- Willing to come to the office 2 times a week for collaboration!
Pssst ... you don’t have to check all the boxes to apply!
We will offer you:
- A competitive base salary and an incentive program;
- Harver Pension program;
- Quarterly wellness days off;
- Hybrid work schedules with lots of flexibility;
- Summer Fridays - Take half day off on Fridays to rest and recharge;
- Monthly connectivity and wellness allowance;
- The chance to be a part of a high-performing, highly collaborative environment full of people who love what they do and who are dedicated to success;
- A culture focused on achieving results and transparent communication;
- A solid, experienced management team invested in your development;
- An executive team dedicated to the safety and well-being of all team members.
