💼 The Opportunity
Kangaroo is looking to hire a part-time contractor to animate a video advertisement for an interactive storytelling app. You'll be joining at a very exciting time, as we continue our beta with celebrities like Kiernan Shipka and Flynn McGarry, and creators like Baby Ariel and Bailey Spinn.
Main responsibilities include:
Conceptualizing ideas for characters, scenes, backgrounds and other animation elementsCreating character sketches for new animations based on design briefsDeveloping storyboards for animation projectsDesigning elements of the animated environmentDeveloping timing and pacing of motion, based on audio requirementsWorking with the story editors to merge the various layers of animationCollaborating with other creatives including designers, artists and writers to finalize projects💻 What is needed for the role
Minimum qualifications
Experience with 2D animationProficiency in the use of design and animation software (i.e. After Effects)Experience in motion designProficiency in the principles of animation such as staging, timing, ease in, ease out and anticipationAttention to detail, adaptability, and receptiveness to feedback and direction.Excellent creativity and originalityAbility to work independently or with a team to develop animations and solve problems.Nice to haves
Experience in creating ads videosBachelor’s degree or certificate in computer animation, fine arts, graphic design, or related field.Understanding of storytelling, and character development techniques.
