About the Role:

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer and serving as the strategic leader for the company's marketing and communications strategy and implementation. We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Digital Marketing and Communications Director to lead our awesome marketing team! In this role, you will be responsible for leading the company's marketing and communications initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build, plan, and execute the company’s overall marketing and communications strategy, including but not limited to events management, collateral generation, social media strategy, and thought leadership. Manage the company’s event strategy, making recommendations on key industry events to attend and/or exhibit to enhance goTenna’s brand awareness

  • Lead the company’s strategic and tactical approach for collateral generation, ensuring the marketing team is developing timely and effective collateral for both general purpose (i.e., brochures and flyers) and specific (i.e., proposal responses, topical issues, etc.)

  • Manage the company’s communication strategy including managing engagement channels, media relationships, and working with internal and external communications resources

  • Drive the company’s social media strategy, overseeing the company’s social media accounts, managing online content, and engagement strategy

  • Lead relevant strategic campaigns across marketing and communications channels to advance the company’s business objectives

  • Prepare and manage all departmental budget activities

  • Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure

  • Track all relevant marketing metrics across all lines of effort, advise leadership on where to invest the company’s time and effort

  • Oversee a team of marketing and communications professionals [standard team language]

Required Experience:

  • 7 years of experience in marketing and/or communications in defense, public safety, law enforcement or related markets

  • In depth knowledge of different marketing channels, including social media, print, event, etc.

  • 5+ years Experience developing marketing materials for technical audiences, such as white papers, brochures, manuals, etc.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with online marketing tools, best practices, and metrics such as SEO

  • Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills — able to readily share writing and other content samples upon request

  • Ability to work with and collaborate with cross-functional groups within and outside the organization

Preferred Experience:

  • MA in Marketing, Digital technologies or similar relevant field

  • Background in startup environment

  • 3+ years in a role that was marketing and communications focused

  • Previous experience working in a military, law enforcement, or public safety role either as a civilian or uniformed employee

Placement at the appropriate job level (entry, senior, etc) will be determined by a combination of years of experience, demonstration of proficiency in this field, and other qualifications.
