Job Description: Lab Intern – Part Time (20hrs/week)

Fork & Good is developing new approaches to growing meat without livestock. Our approach addresses critical food safety issues, cuts out the immense resources needed for livestock, and avoids animal slaughter. We are using innovative cell culture technologies to grow cells for products that have the meat flavor we crave and the key nutrients we need. We have 80+ years of combined experience in food business and science, developed one of the first prototypes of clean meat in 2011, and was the first team who had approved intellectual property (i.e. patents) in the cultured meat space in the US. We are looking for a current student who is willing to work part time to assist our engineers and scientists with inventory procurement and general lab maintenance work (such as media and cell culture preparation). This part-time position will be reporting to the Bioprocess Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the inventory management and procurement of cGMP and R&D reagents, consumables, and materials critical to ongoing projects.
• Prepare, label, and maintain buffers, media formulations, and other reagents used in cell culture, analytical assays, and bioreactor operations.
• Support routine equipment cleaning, calibration, and documentation under established lab procedures.
• Collaborate closely with Fork & Good technical team to streamline reagent preparation and transfer processes between research and production settings.
• Contribute to maintaining laboratory compliance, organization, and reagent traceability in accordance with internal quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 (must be listed on the application to be considered).
• Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional R&D and operations workflows.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic data entry for laboratory recordkeeping.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Compensation:

• Expected hourly rate: $17.50 – $19.00, depending on experience and education level.
