The Expressive Therapist/Group Leader position provides inpatient and residential group treatment and individual consults to support individuals experiencing mental illness, inclusive of eating disorders, in addition to organizational and administrative support for the integrative therapies department
Pay: $ 67,000.00-$110,000.00

Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct 12-15 multi-modal groups a week with adolescents and adults, and document group attendance and activity in the medical record and individualized treatment plan. Group content is focused on expressive art therapies and other integrative therapies such as biofeedback, group psychotherapy, and other therapeutic psychoeducation topics.
- Coordination of expressive art materials in building, including ordering, organizing, and cleaning art supplies for the art room, and coordinating with other group leaders and other staff.
- Maintaining safety standards for therapeutic group delivery according to stated policies
- Participate in daily rounds as time allows, and communicate with members of the treatment teams on patient progress and
- Conduct the Expressive Therapy consultations as
- Develop and update group syllabus for skills-based, process-oriented, and educational
- Participate in weekend tasks, at a maximum of two weekend days a month, with a flexible weekday off in compensation (“comp day”) to be applied in agreement with your supervisor
- Collect outcome and quality data as required for reports; prepare required reports as
- Work with clinical teams to promote the use of pro-social self-regulating activities for patients.
- Offer group coverage as needed
- Attend required supervision meetings and staff meetings
- Teach group skills and therapeutic content to students, interns, and program staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master's degree in Expressive Arts Therapy required
- Experience or certification in expressive art therapies preferred
Experience:
- Experience providing groups in a mental health setting, preferably in an eating disorder or inpatient psychiatric setting
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a mental health setting
Licensure/Certification:
- Preferred to have LCSW, LMHC, PsyD
- CPR certification, required
Knowledge:
- Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group process, therapeutic relationships processes, age-specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive
- Demonstrated capacity to create group ideas and therapeutic group interventions
- Knowledge of behavioral health, including group treatment modalities
- Crisis management skills, and group intervention skills with clients
- Strong clinical and patient counseling skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
